At Cleaner Lamp, we are proud to share one of our most emblematic projects: the restoration of two monumental lamps and other lighting pieces of the Government Delegation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This work reflects our dedication to preserving historical and artistic heritage through artisanal techniques and an unwavering commitment to quality.
🏛️ An assignment of great responsibility
The Government Delegation in Las Palmas houses two monumental lamps, which, with the passage of time, required a comprehensive restoration. In addition to this central piece, we were entrusted with the restoration of four sconces and two table lamps, all of them with a high historical and artistic value.
The main objective was to restore these pieces to their original splendor, respecting their design and materials, and ensuring their functionality and safety for future generations.
🔍 Diagnosis and Planning
Before starting any intervention, we carry out an exhaustive diagnosis of each piece. This process included:
- Structural condition assessment: We identify deformations, cracks and wear in metallic structures and glass loss and/or breakage.
- Material analysis: We determine the composition of metals and glass in order to select the most appropriate cleaning and restoration methods.
- Photographic documentation: We record every detail to ensure a restoration faithful to the original design.
With this information, we elaborate a personalized intervention plan for each piece, prioritizing the conservation of its original elements.
🧼 Component Cleaning and Restoration
The cleaning of the pieces was carried out manually and meticulously, always using our specific product CLEANER LAMP, which restores the original shine to the glass and does not damage the metals.
The metal components, mainly bronze, were treated to remove oxidation and restore their original finish. We used non-abrasive products with neutral PH to avoid damaging the original color and at the end we applied a coat of clear lacquer varnish to keep it clean for a longer period of time.
🔧Repair and Replacement of Elements
During the restoration, it was necessary to repair or replace some damaged or missing elements. For this purpose, our craftsmen specialized in casting and chiseling reproduced lost wax parts, ensuring a perfect integration with the originals.
Each new piece was carefully aged and finished to maintain the aesthetic and historical coherence of the lamp and sconces.
💡 Electric System Upgrade
One of the most important aspects of the restoration was the updating of the electrical system of the lamps. Obsolete cables and components were replaced with others that comply with current safety regulations, without altering the external appearance of the pieces. Halogen-free, high temperature resistant and smoke-free wiring was used to comply with current regulations for public places.
This process ensured that the lamps not only regained their original beauty, but were also safe and functional for everyday use.
🎨 Assembly and Final Verification
Once all the components were restored, we proceeded to assemble the lamps in our facilities. Each piece was assembled with precision, ensuring its stability and correct alignment.
Subsequently, we carry out functional tests to verify the correct installation of the electrical system and the proper illumination of each lamp.
📦 Transportation and Installation
Transport of the restored lamps was carried out with the utmost precautions, using special packaging to protect each component. Once at the Government Delegation, our team was in charge of the installation, ensuring that each lamp was perfectly positioned and working properly.
🏆 Result and Recognition
The final result was the complete recovery of the original splendor of the lamps, which now shine with all their brilliance in the Government Delegation in Las Palmas. This project has been recognized for its quality and respect for historical heritage, consolidating Cleaner Lamp as a leading company in the restoration of lamps in Spain.
